Dickinson Gleeson is celebrating retaining its rankings in the 2020 edition of Legal 500. The firm is noted for its expertise in offshore dispute resolution and its two founding partners have retained their status as leading individuals in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.
Legal 500 is the “industry bible” of the legal profession and used by lawyers and clients alike to find the best legal representatives globally, based on client and peer reviews.
Legal 500 comments: “Dickinson Gleeson has lawyers sophisticated and experienced enough to tackle the most complex and challenging of big commercial and trust cases”, cementing the firm’s reputation as a leading boutique litigation firm.
James Dickinson and James Gleeson have each received plaudits for their outstanding litigation abilities, with James Dickinson being noted as “extraordinarily hard working, and very bright. He wants to understand everything and attains a really strong grasp of the factual issues and legal nuances of a case. Not afraid to get stuck in and robust on his feet. Extremely thorough in his preparations and devastatingly effective in court.”
James Gleeson is praised equally for being “cerebrally intelligent, and wears it lightly, as well as a “very, very good lawyer to have on your side in a complex commercial or chancery dispute.”
The two most recent litigation partners, Robert Christie and Guillaume Staal of the decade old firm are also noted for their abilities:
“Robert Christie is an absolute star. His approach combines intellectual rigour with an ever-practical instinct for the winning argument. He has a fantastic work manner and gets on very well with clients and barristers alike.”
Guillaume Staal is called “A future star, with “a very understated but very intelligent legal mind.” Senior Associate Pierre Ali-Noor is also singled out for praise, noted as “hard working, charming and diligent. He really gets into the meat of a case.”
James Dickinson said of this year’s accomplishments: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised once more for our team’s intellectual and tactical abilities in complex dispute resolution matters. For a firm of this size to have key practitioners praised individually is another incredible achievement and fitting for our tenth year in operation.”
2020 continues to be another successful year for Dickinson Gleeson, with the firm having already been recognised as Citywealth IFC Boutique Law Firm of the Year for the third year in a row. The firm has also been listed as a finalist in the 2020 STEP Awards, nominated for Legal 500 offshore law firm of the year 2020 and identified in a Legal 500 survey as being one of the top four firms in Jersey for client service.
