Double success for Dickinson Gleeson partners

13th November 2020 By dgadmin

Dickinson Gleeson is delighted that two of its lawyers have been recognised at the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2020, championing young professionals in the wealth sector and aiming to highlight both present and future leaders who are below forty years of age.

Advocate Guillaume Staal won silver in the IFC Lawyer of the Year – Senior/Managing Associate category (Guillaume has been promoted to partner since he was nominated for the award). Advocate Robert Christie won in the IFC Lawyer of the Year – Partner category.

Nominees for these two categories were drawn from lawyers in International Finance Centres globally outside the UK, including in Europe, the Channel Islands and the Caribbean. Karen Jones, Editor of Citywealth magazine, commented that the winners were “selected by judges who are industry peers and by a public online vote from peers and UHNW clients globally.”

Guillaume’s principal areas of expertise are in trust and commercial litigation. He has been involved in a range of innovative Jersey cases and has been recognised by peers and clients alike as “a very understated but very intelligent legal mind” (Legal 500 2021).

Robert specialises in trust, company, commercial and insolvency litigation. He often uses novel legal strategies which set him apart from his peers and is experienced in obtaining litigation funding for his clients. He has been described by clients as“an absolute star. His approach combines intellectual rigour with an ever-practical instinct for the winning argument. He has a fantastic work manner and gets on very well with clients and barristers alike” (Legal 500 2021).

These latest awards continue to demonstrate Dickinson Gleeson’s quality of work and depth of outstanding talent.
